Kylian Mbappe played an important role in helping the former Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Hugo Ekitike, becoming the player he is today while the French striker ends during a large move to Liverpool.
It was largely reported on Thursday that Liverpool was in advanced talks to sign Ekitike on the side of Bundesliga Eintracht Francfurt in an agreement worth more than 70 million pounds sterling.
The 23-year-old striker, who helped Frankfurt guarantee qualification in the Champions League with 22 goals and 13 assists in 2024/25, is open to membership of the Arne Slot team and should change this weekend.

Ekitike has had a rapid increase in the last 18 months. After fighting for the first PSG team, he joined Eintracht Francfurt on a six -month loan agreement in February 2024 which included a compulsory option of 14.3 million pounds Sterling.
It was the manufacture of Ekitike, who prospered in the Bundesliga thanks in part to the advice of former teammate Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking during his disclosure of Frankfurt in February of last year, Ekitike was full of praise for Mbappe.
“I have become a better footballer and a better person because of him (Mbappe),” he said. “I watched it a lot and he gave me a lot of advice on the place where I could improve. He recommended going to the next step and advised me to come here to progress and develop.”

That’s right. Mbappe was the one who urged Ekitike to move to Frankfurt du PSG in the first place.
After scoring a handful of goals during its first loan, the German club collected the awards in 2024/25 while Ekitike received 22 times all competitions. In fact, Ekitike managed 117 Bundesliga shots last season – more than any other player.

Ekitike has impressed many spectators in recent months, including the former midfielder of the Netherlands Wesley Sneijder, who has made a daring comparison after watching her play in a clash of the Europa League against Ajax.

“He has the grace of Neymar, but also the Mbappe movements. To accelerate suddenly, it is something that Mbappe also. And he is only 22 years old. There is really a lot of potential in this boy.”
