Summary

Join Emmaus UK as an Office Administrator Apprentice and develop valuable administration, customer service and organisational skills while supporting a charity that helps people overcome homelessness. You will provide office and team support, manage enquiries and contribute to Emmaus’ mission of helping people rebuild their lives.

Wage

£15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Enquiries and customer service

  • Act as the first point of contact for all general telephone and email enquiries, creating a professional first impression and ensuring all enquiries are passed to the correct person for further action
  • Signposting service-users and potential service users to relevant support services
  • Answering queries from stakeholders, including troubleshooting issues and the administration of complaints as per the Complaints procedure ensuring that complaints are recorded and dealt with in a timely manner

Office support

  • Support with incoming and outgoing post and any items to be sent by courier when required
  • Maintain office supplies and ensure office equipment is in full working order
  • Responsible for the purchasing and provision of equipment to staff and new starters, maintaining and updating supply records accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures in the office environment such as Health & Safety and Destruction of Confidential Waste
  • Managing administrative tasks, including filing and scanning documents

Team administration support

  • Providing administration support to EUK teams as required
  • Provide support arranging meetings including organising venues and ordering catering and refreshments as required
  • Maintaining office contacts and email distribution lists, updating the organisational chart and EUK information documents as required
  • Provide administration support to HR including gaining information from new starters and updating internal systems

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)
  • Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
