Job summary

This is an exciting lead analysis role joining a multi award winning Data and Analysis department. (Royal Statistical Society Florence Nightingale Award 2022; Health Service Journal Driving Change thorough Data and Analytics 2024).

The post holder will support the provision of high quality data to clinical and operational colleagues. The post holder will have experience of reporting from large and complicated healthcare datasets to support and develop analytical reporting to help the trust improve the healthcare of the population we serve.

You will be passionate about data and analysis and will embrace new technology and statistical approaches to engage and encourage stakeholders throughout the trust to use data to support evidence based decision making.

You will be supported by the departments strategic training plan following NHS England’s National Competency Framework.

This is a London office based role involving significant face to face interaction presenting analysis at face to face workshops, masterclasses and away days.

Main duties of the job

The ability to analyse, interpret and present, both face to face and virtually, complex data and information from a variety of sources and formats into information that is consistent, accurate, relevant and appropriate for use by a variety of audiences.

You will be a self-motivated, capable and adaptable Data Analyst with strong database query skills (SQL) to take a leading role in meeting the ever-growing business intelligence needs of our Services in East London. The post holder will have excellent data analysis skills and the ability to present complex data and information using Power BI, Excel or similar visualisation tools.

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or relevant experience to an equivalent

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuous Professional development in Data and Analysis.

Experience

Essential

  • Extremely numerate and able to analyse and interpret data and information accurately and effectively both face to face and virtually
  • Experience of using SQL to manipulate data.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with NHS datasets, and knowledge of the NHS data dictionary definitions
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively highly complex information to all staff groups in virtual and face to face environments, workshops and away days

Desirable

  • Understanding of the workings of a Mental and Community Health provider organization
