Official: FC Porto Sign of Froholdt in an amazing agreement

FC Porto has signed FC Copenhagen Victor Froholdt midfielder for no less than 22 million euros in a five -year agreement establishing a new transfer record for FC Copenhagen.

After seven years at FC Copenhagen, where he played 62 games in the first team and scored 8 goals, Victor Froholdt meets goodbye to take the next step in his career at FC Porto.

FC Copenhagen sports director, Sun Smith-Nielsen, regrets having to say goodbye to the talented 19-year-old central midfielder.

“We have a great desire to maintain continuity in the team, and Victor was an essential element, so I would have liked to see him stay with us longer.”

“In the negotiation process, however, it was clear that Victor wanted a change of club, and as we also obtain a historically high transfer, I chose to accept it.”

“The moment is of course bad compared to the fact that we have just started the Danish Superliga and our European qualifications. But transfer income is also an important element of our strategy and our desire to manage a sustainable football company. When the amount has become so high, I am also obliged to act financially responsible.”

The FCK is guaranteed 20 million euros in the agreement while two million are linked to bonuses based on performance. In addition, it is confirmed that FC Copenhagen obtained a resale clause of ten%.

Victor Froholdt, 19, joined FC Copenhagen Talent at the age of 12 of Vallensbaek Si. Since then, he continuously increased his level in the ranks of young people and made his debut for the first team in the fall of 2023 and was selected for the Danish national team in the spring.

“It’s sad to leave the place that has been my house for so many years, and it’s not an easy decision”, “ said Victor Froholdt.
