Andrea Pirlo takes over as director of the United FC water team
Former Italian captain Andrea Pirlo was appointed coach of the United FC, the second Emirati club announced on Friday.
The midfielder of ex-AC Milan and Juventus signed a two-year agreement with the club, also known as Dubai United, who plays in the first water division league, at a level under the country’s professional league.
Pirlo, 46, a key player in the triumph of the 2006 world cup in Italy, had spells in Juve, Fatih Karagumruk in Turkey and more recently Sampdoria since retired to play in 2017.
