Lauren James a doubt for Euro 2025 final after an ankle injury in the semi-finals
The participation of the England striker Lauren James in the final of Euro 2025 on Sunday against Spain is in doubt after having injured the ankle during their victory in the semi-finals against Italy.
If the 23 -year -old woman does not recover in time, her absence would be a massive blow for reigning champions.
“She always recovers,” Friday, England coach Sarina Wiegman. “She is doing things on the field and we have two more days, so we will give her time. I don’t know yet (if she will be ready), but that’s what we are going to go – 23 players available for the match on Sunday.”
James won nine goals in 33 appearances for England, including two in their 4-0 victory against the Netherlands in the group phase in Switzerland.
“You give LJ the ball and you know that she will go through everyone and try to have her shoot,” said her teammate Georgia Stanway earlier in the tournament.
James injured his ankle just before half-time on Tuesday and looked at the second half of the bench with an ice bag on his ankle.
