Chelsea assesses the possibility of a decision for the midfielder of Barcelona Fermin Lopez, but there is currently no club contact at Club.
The Premier League team is in contact with the player’s camp while exploring the attack options in the event of outings, given the depth of Barça in position.
The Lopez Barcelona contract takes place until 2029 after the midfielder signed a new agreement in October 2024, which extended its existing conditions for two additional years.
The 22-year-old was sidelined for more than a month at the start of the 2024-25 season with a thigh injury, but made 46 appearances throughout the campaign, the majority of which is won as a substitute and recorded eight goals and 10 assists.
Lopez has scored in three of the last five Barcelona games of the season while the Hansi Flick team has raised the Spanish title.
The midfielder joined Barcelona of the real Betis at the age of 12 and went through the La Masia Academy of the Catalan club. After a loan spell with third-level Linares clubs during the 2022-23 season, Lopez burst into the first Barcelona team, scoring 11 goals in 43 appearances under Xavi.
Chelsea added six players to the first team team of Enzo Maresca this season with Dario Essugo, Sporting CP, the only arrival in the midfield with midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu among those who left Stamford Bridge on permanent agreements.
Lopez made his debut in Senior Spain in June 2024 and has since made a new appearance for European champions.
The Flick team is well supplied in the central midfielder, with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Dani Olmo, Marc Casado and Gavi among the options. Marc Bernal, 18, missed the majority of the season after undergoing an injury to the previous cross ligament (ACL), but will also be available soon.
