A former English international switched to Jack Grenish to finish a shock transfer because it could help him return to Thomas Tuchel’s plans before the 2026 World Cup.
Grealish, 29, apparently fell into disgrace with the Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola and was excluded from the World Cup team 2025.
This happened at the end of a bad season for the former man of Aston Villa, who produced only three goals and five assists in 33 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign when City became Trophyless.
Sometimes, the behavior of the 29 -year -old out of the field was questioned, but Guardiola insisted that this was not the reason for his omission from the Club World Cup.
“The only reason he (Grenalish) did not play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect or something else,” said Guardiola.
“He’s a better player, but the players must compete with each other, and last season, Doku was incredible in many games and Savinho took the step for his first season.”

Several clubs, including Newcastle United, Napoli and Aston Villa, have all been linked to potential movements for the international in England, but as things are, no matter of this type has materialized.
But the former English international Stuart Pearce advised Greallish to consider “going abroad” in order to potentially return to the national team.
“I would not say that Jack Grenish could go abroad and become a megastar, but I certainly think that going abroad would not be a bad thing for him,” said Pearce AIM.
“Whenever I see an English player going abroad, I think it’s good for the national team personally, as well as for the experiences of players and everything.
“Many players we have seen abroad lately, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, they have prospered.
“It is good to show that we have players ready to go to Europe and acquire experience of life abroad. I think Jack Grenish would benefit from it. ” The only thing he has to do, in football is that he must deliver more goals and more help in the position in which he plays.

“When I look at England for the moment, we have a center forward in Harry Kane, and mobility is probably not its strong point.
“So you need players on each flank being very mobile to go beyond him. Nor is Jack’s game. This retains it a little internationally.
“But for the moment, he cannot enter the international team because his old club level is not good enough. We need someone like Jack Grenish to play fairly well at the club level to be regularly in the international fold.”
Grealish, which is contracted in Manchester City until June 2027, played for the last time for England in the UEFA Nations League against Finland in October 2024.
