Alexander Isak Transfer Update given by Eddie Howe as new assertions made in the interest of Liverpool

Eddie Howe has published a new update on the future of Alexander Isak in the midst of intense transfer speculation.

Liverpool turns after Isak informed Newcastle United that he wanted to explore his options this summer.

It is despite the Reds which signing Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt in an agreement worth 79 million pounds sterling.

But the Premier League champions can afford the Swedish international even if they spent nearly 300 million pounds sterling during the transfer window.

Liverpool is preparing a British record offer to attract Isak to Anfield, Howe speaking on the creeping rumors before his team’s match against Arsenal.

When asked if he wanted a quick resolution to the situation, he replied: “I would not put a time scale.

Howe added: “But the club will make the right decision with all the information it has, and finally try to advance the club in the way. Then, it is up to us to make good decisions in the other way and try to improve the best that we can. This is what we are trying to do, whatever Alex’s situation.

“But I think there is a wider image here. There is a whole football club which must make the decision. The property, with the board of directors, in particular with the money involved in modern transfers. The manager of course has an opinion, but ultimately the decision rests with the board of directors.”

Eddie Howe confirms discussions with Alexander Isak behind the scenes

Isak did not trace in Asia for the pre-season tour of Newcastle, after quoting a thigh injury before his team’s friendly match against Celtic.

But the discussions are underway with the star forward behind the scenes, which Howe will remain private.

“Of course, things are happening behind the scenes (with Alex). He will be aware that he is in the news every day, and I am sure that it is not easy for anyone in this situation. Conversations that occur between Alex and the Club or Alex and I will remain private for obvious reasons. We share a very good relationship with him,” he said.

“It was magnificent for us and he is very popular in the locker room. We would like him to continue his trip to Newcastle. I certainly hope that he stays. And I said (last weekend), I was convinced that he would remain. I don’t see anything that could change this opinion at the moment, but it is football and who knows what the future could bring.

“All I would say about the wider image is that what’s going on must be good for Newcastle. We are in a very strong financial position. We are determined to succeed. We are ambitious. We have an excellent season in front of us. We have to add to the team and continue to improve, and the trip can continue in an upward trajectory.”

No contract interview takes place with Alexander Isak

Howe also revealed that there was currently no contractual discussion that takes place between Newcastle and Isak.

But he admits that discussions on a new agreement could still occur.

“As far as I know, I don’t think there are contractual talks at the moment,” he continued. “It will potentially be for a later date. I think for the moment, with the situation as it is and the state of the window, in the sense that it rushes very quickly towards the end of the window, from our point of view, there is still so much that it could happen.”
