Arsenal to create a “never to see” transfer window with the latest agreement after Viktor Gyokerres

Arsenal will finish an unprecedented transfer window if they make one more signature after the agreement of Viktor Gyokerres.

The Swedish striker is expected to undergo his doctor this weekend before completing a transfer of 63.8 million pounds sterling of the Sports CP, ending the long-standing Arsenal pursuit for an attacker.

Since he left the Coventry championship for 20 million euros (17.5 million pounds Sterling) in 2023, Gyokerres has been a revelation in Portugal.

He scored 97 exceptional goals in 102 games, which also attracted the interest of Manchester United, but the Swedish clearly indicated that he wanted to play in the Champions League and join Arsenal.

He will be the sixth addition to the Emirates this summer after Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

If Arsenal makes a seventh signature after Gyoker, it would be their busiest transfer window since the summer of 2001.

That year, they signed seven players, including Sol Campbell and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst, but it was before the introduction of the summer and winter transfer system.

You have to return in 1997 to find the last time that the Gunners brought eight first team players.

That year, they brought Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit and Matthew Upson among others in a madness which finally helped to fight against the title of Premier League of United.

The busiest summer in recent years in recent years was in 2021 when Mikel Arteta spent 142 million pounds Sterling after a difficult start to life in the Emirates.

This window included Ben White’s purchases, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale.

Will Arsenal make another signature?

He certainly cannot be excluded.

During his first press conference of the pre-season tour of Arsenal in Singapore and Hong Kong, Arteta called for more additions.

He said: “In terms of figures, we are short and we must improve the depth and quality of the team. We are constantly looking at the market.

“Until it happens, (we) we focus on the players we have – and I am very satisfied with what I saw in the last 10 to 15 days.”

Since then, they have signed Cristhian Mosquera, who has been a young defender from Valencia.

And the agreement for Gyokerres should be finalized this weekend.

But that did not end speculation connecting the arsenal to other signatures.

One of the most strongly linked names is the star of Crystal Palace Ebelechi Eze, who is appreciated for his versatility in the attack posts and would have said to friends who expected to sign this summer.

The 27 -year -old has a liberation clause of 60 million pounds sterling in his contract, but Arsenal would like to try to negotiate him if they made an approach.

The rivals of northern London Tottenham Hotspur were also linked to the signing of Eze, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
