Four teams are standing in the quest for the title of the Women’s African Cup of Nations. Flashscore breaks down everything you need to know before the last four clashes.
Everything is now ready for the semi-finals of the Nations Cup in female Africa in progress, with reign champions of South Africa, Ghana, title holders nine times Nigeria, and welcomes Morocco in the running in the final, scheduled for July 26 at the Olympic stadium in Rabat.
After a slow start, the Super Falcons found their stride with a dominant 5-0 victory in the quarter-final against Zambia. The hosts in Morocco, inspired by an Ibtissam Jraidi splint, passed Mali 3-1 to reserve their place in the semi-finals.
The title champions of South Africa preceded Senegal in penalties following a tense draw, while Ghana also held its nerve during a victory of shooting over Algeria in Berkane.
At the end of what promises to be an exciting round, two teams will emerge to challenge the greatest prize in the continent in women’s football.
Nigeria renews rivalry with South Africa
The highly anticipated confrontation between the Super Falcons and Banyana Banyana draws the titles of the semi-finals of the Wafcon 2024.
Taking place at the Larbi Zaouli stadium in Casablanca, the match marks the 11th meeting between the two African powers in the history of the tournament, a rivalry that dates back to November 25, 2000.
Although Nigeria has the upper hand with seven victories from their last ten meetings against southern Africans, they will not have the easiest this time. The Desiree Ellis team beat the Super Falcons about to claim their first African title two years ago and will be confident to repeat this feat.
Coach Justine Madugu will rely on the Chinwendu Ihezuo attacker and Rinsola Babajide to lead Nigeria’s push for the victory. The Super Falcons remain the only side to concede in the tournament thanks to the solid defensive association of the rock of Osinachi Ohale and Ashley Plumpstre, and the guaranteed presence of the Chiamaka Nnadozie goalkeeper between the posts.
South Africa – The missing star striker The Mybi Kgatlana and perhaps feeling the effects of their 120 -minute battle against Senegal – still represent a serious threat. The nine champions will have to be careful with Jermaine Seophanwe, Hildah Magia and Lebogang Ramalepe, who all have the capacity to change the game in an instant.

Black Queens aimed at breaking the 19 year old jinx
Ghana enters this meeting in the semi-finals which achieved confidence with confidence after a spectacular victory on penalties against Algeria in the quarterfinals.
With the momentum and belief on their side, the Black Queens will seek to keep their dreams alive by upsetting Morocco hosts and by reserving a place in the final.
Historically, the Ghanaians hold the advantage in this match, after having silenced the 3-0 lioness atlas at their sole preceding Wafcon meeting in 2000. However, the landscape has changed considerably since then.
The North Africans, classified 60th in the world – six places in front of the West Africans – have increased in stature, in particular as hosts. The Atlas lionesses were clinical in front of the goal, scoring a 10 -goals tournament in just four games.
Undefeated in their last eight games since April, the ladies of Jorge Vilda have not yet weakened and will be supported by a passionate crowd in Rabat.
On the other hand, the Ghanaians have benefited from a resurgence and find themselves in their first semi-final since 2016. Although they have won only four of their last 12 competition games, they have shown grain and determination throughout this tournament.
With the attacking fire power of Morocco and the spirit of renewed combat of Ghana, this semi-final promises to be a closely disputed affair with everything online.
