The Chelsea World Champions launch their 2025-20126 Premier League season at Stamford Bridge Sunday afternoon, while they face Crystal Palace.
The Blues enter the new campaign of good humor with their exploits in the United States earlier this summer highlighting their impressive evolution under Enzo Maresca. The winners of the Club World Cup for the second time, Chelsea now aims to compete for the title of the League after having won fourth place on the last day of 2024-2025.
Their trips through the Atlantic means that they had a reduced pre-season, Maresca’s team overcoming Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan in two friendly matches to prepare them for the early 2025-2026.
The Crystal Palace campaign took the perfect start to Wembley, when they came twice against Liverpool and won the community shield in penalties. Unlike Chelsea, the Eagles were distinctly silent on the transfer market after claiming their first major piece of silverware, but their team could be considerably different when the window slams.
Many will depend on who will eventually leave the club.
Here is Illustrated sportsGuide to the meeting of the Premier League on Sunday.

Nicolas Jackson is firmly in disgrace in western London, and the attacker is suspended for the Chelsea opening match of the season after receiving his walking orders during a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United in May.
João Pedro is one of the many additions made by the club this summer, and the Brazilian had a superb start to his career in Chelsea. He will run the line on Sunday, and there should also be a start for Jorrel Hato and Jamie Gittens.
Maresca confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah is available for the visit of Palace, but the Italian will be without Benoît Badiashile, Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill. Wesley Fofana has a chance to present.
Chelsea predicted the VS Palais programming (4-2-3-1): Sánchez; James, Chalobah, Hato, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernández; Neto, Palmer, Gittens; Pedro
Two stars of Crystal Palace, Ebelechi Eze and Marc Guehi, are the subject of transfer interests of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, respectively.
Glasner refused to disclose in the future of his captain at the pre-match press conference on Friday, and the two players will be in his departure XI unless there are more developments before Sunday.
The boss of the palace confirmed that Daichi Kamada, who had injured in the community shield, will miss the trip to the west of London, while Eddie Nketiah, Matheus França, Cheick Doucouré and Chadi Riad are also injured.
Palace predicts programming against Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Muñoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta
Chelsea can be confident, but Palace has also proven how hard they can be in the community shield. They enjoyed these light fixtures under Glasner, and they will be eager to grasp a complacency of the blues here.
We cannot expect Guehi and Eze to be in full inclination, given the speculation surrounding their future, but Palace has enough to cause Chelsea problems of the balanced frame to glanse alone. Ismaïla Sarr was their star in Wembley, while Adam Wharton is a manufacturer of difference in the midfield.
The blues will have to work hard for three points on Sunday, but we will support them to lead a powerfully competitive meeting.
