Everton Accept Jack Grenise Loan Deal by Manchester City

Everton has entered into an agreement to take Jack Grenish in Manchester City loan.

The agreement must still be finalized, but a medical is planned today for the international in England. An option to buy in the region of 50 million pounds sterling ($ 67.3 million) will be included.

Athletics reported on August 6 that Everton opened talks with City on a decision for the 29 -year -old, whose contract at Stade Etihad expires in 2027.

Grealish only made 16 departures in all competitions last season and only seven in the Premier League. He was excluded from the city team for his last match of the Premier League season against Fulham – which manager Pep Guardiola described as “nothing personal” – and was not included in the team that went to the United States for the club World Cup this summer. Phil Foden, Savinho, Jeremy Doku, Kevin de Bruyne, Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva have often been preferred to Greallish on the front line of the city.

After having lived the Academy at Aston Villa and became club captain in 2019, Grenish joined City for a club record of 100 million pounds Sterling, also a record amount for a British player. He signed a six -year contract and made 157 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and providing 23 assists.

Grealish won the Premier League three times with City, as well as the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Club World Cup. He was an integral part of the 2022-23 campaign team, making 50 appearances while City won the triples, starting each match with direct elimination of the Champions League.

Guardiola had previously expressed the desire to see Grealland returning to the level she showed during this campaign. “Do I want the jack that won the triples? Yeah, I want it, but I try to be honest with myself,” said Spanish in January.

“I fought a lot for him, I fought a lot to be here. I know he can do it because I saw him. I saw its level and I want this, every training session and each match. ”

An agreement for Grealish would see him become the fifth new arrival of Everton of the summer, with Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in moving from Villareal, Bournemouth, Bayern Munich and Chelsea respectively. Carlos Alcaraz also joined the club permanently after its loan to Goodison Park last season.

“Grealish could be a talisman – but not a risk -free signature”

Analysis of the correspondent of Everton Patrick Boyland

Grealish would be a signature of a marquee, which would excite most of Everton fans. The Merseyside team obtained the fourth best defensive record in the Premier League last season, but long was missing.

To his best, Grenish could be this player; A catalyst to drive the side, and a talisman like Everton heads for a new era in their Hill Dickinson stadium of 52,769 inhabitants.

Grealish should be the main man on the side of David Moyes, dictating the game of both the center and the left. In this sense, it will be intriguing to see how it all knit together.

Iliman Ndiaye, Everton’s most productive striker last season, worked in similar fields, while new 25 million pounds sterling in the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall aligned themselves in role No. 10 of the weekend against Roma. Everton must also address the lack of pace and threat of objective on the right flank.

With Everton which should pay a large part of wages of £ 300,000 per week of Grealish, this is an expensive signature not without risk element. The one who could well define the first part of the mandate of the Friedkin group (TFG).

The total package, comfortably greater than 10 million pounds sterling, could eventually look like a good deal if the former villa man returned to the levels of old and catapult the side.

But there is of course no guarantee. Grealish spent last season on the outskirts of City and needs minutes if he wants to have a chance to relaunch his fortune and make the World Cup with England next summer.

Whatever happens here, the American owner TFG has shown that he will put his hand in his pocket and that the years of austerity in Everton are over. It will be fascinating to see how it all works.
