Early tonight, the second younger Liverpool player, Rio Ngumoha, shone again in pre-season.
The striker under 17 in England, who will be 17 years later this month, marked and helped in the first match of his return from Anfield against Athletic Bilbao, whom they won 4-1.
Having marked in the second minute while running on a loose ball in his own half before running forward and curling a good effort at 20 meters, he hosted Ben Doak’s head for Darwin Nunez to convert at close range three minutes later.
He went to a standing ovation halfway through the second half after a performance that will have let many fans wonder if he could be part of the first team this year.
