Hansi Flick explains Marcus Rashford’s substance after only 30 minutes from the start of Barcelona

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick said why he decided to replace Marcus Rashford 30 minutes after giving him his debut to the club.

After months of constant rumors linked Rashford to move away from United after his fallout with manager Ruben Amorim, the winger obtained a dream move to Barcelona.

The legend of Manchester United will join Barcelona on a loan throughout the season, the Spanish giants have granted the opportunity to sign it permanent at the end of its loan for a reported expense of 30.3 million pounds sterling.

Only a few days after the confirmation of its move, Rashford received its debut in Barcelona against the Japanese side Vissel Kobe, only for Flick to remove it from the field only 30 minutes after its replacement.

And now, the Barcelona boss finally explained to explain exactly why he was forced to make such a brutal decision during the match.

Eric Garcia’s goals, Roony Bardghji and Pedro Fernandez Sarmiento won a 3-1 victory for Barcelona in the match, most of the Spanish team team involved in the match to a certain extent.

For Rashford, this meant coming to the field to replace Raphinha in the 46th minute, to be removed in the 78th minute, Fernandez Sarmiento taking his place in the XI.

While some assumed that this decision was perhaps based on his performances in the game, Flick later expressed to confirm that he made the decision to help facilitate Rashford to play following his recent injury to the hamstrings.

“We are very cautious with Marcus because he came from an injury and he did not start training completely with the ball,” confirmed Flick.

After a successful short-term loan spell with Aston Villa in the last part of the 2024/25 season, Rashford underwent the hamstring injury in April, excluding it for the season.

Consequently, it is not surprising that English can seek to slowly strengthen its physical form in the coming weeks before the Liga of Barcelona’s opening match against RCD Mallorca on August 16.

Before that, Rashford will have three other pre-season games to prepare, which means that it should be back in great shape in time.
