Ajax confirms the transfer of Jeri Heerkens from Sparta Prague: “ ready to realize dreams ”

Ajax has confirmed the transfer of the Dutch international U19 and the former goalkeeper of Sparta Prague Jeri Heerkens.
Heerkens, 19, has signed a five -year contract in Amsterdam, where he should become the first goalkeeper in future seasons.
“We are delighted that Jeri Heerkens chose Ajax”, “ Ajax director Alex Kroes said on the club’s website.
“Jeri is a young talented goalkeeper with all the qualities necessary for the position: height, reflexes, composure, concentration and good mentality. He shows a commitment and a huge desire to improve. We think that he can very well develop in Ajax and is convinced that over time, he can become the role of goalkeeper at the first choice.”
Heerkens confirmed his departure from Sparta Prague and the Czech Republic on Instagram Earlier Monday.
“The country where I was born with a mission, the country where I took my first steps on the football field, the first steps towards my dream,” Heekens wrote. “I will always be grateful that you taught me the hard way. You have created a person who is ready to conquer the world, you have created a person who is ready to realize his dreams.”
The Dutch Dutch international born in Czech joined Sparta Prague in 2021 after playing for TJ Slovan Broumov, FK Nachod and FC Hradec Kralove earlier in his youth career. The 19 -year -old goalkeeper did not make his professional debut for Sparta Prague, although he was called in the match team in the last weeks of the 2024/25 Liga season.
European champion
Heerkens represented the Czech Republic at the level of young people until 2023, when he passed in the Netherlands and joined their U18 team. Last summer, Heerkens played the European Championships under 19, which he won with the Netherlands be defeated 1-0 in the final, every minute in the final.
