Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partere appeared on Tuesday in a London court, accused of raped two women while he was a player of the English Premier League club.

Party, a Ghana International, is accused of five rape charges concerning two women, plus an accusation of sexual assault against a third woman, between April 2021 and June 2022.

The 32 -year -old man sat on the platform of the Westminster magistrate court dressed in black during the brief hearing and spoke only to confirm his name, his date of birth and his address.

Prosecutor Jocelyn Ledward said that two of the accusations referred to by Partey relate to a complainant in anal complainant during consensual sex on separate occasions.

Three other accusations concern a second woman that Party is accused of rape three times, twice in Britain and once in Spain.

He was asked to plead the accusations. Party obtained a deposit before its next appearance before the London court at Old Bailey Court on September 2.

His lawyer previously declared in a statement that Party denies the accusations and welcomes the opportunity to erase his name.

Party was signed by Arsenal of Atletico Madrid for 50 million euros in 2020 and became a key member of the first team of the English team, making 52 appearances in all competitions last season.

He was arrested for the first time in July 2022, although he was not appointed at the time and continued to play for Arsenal while the investigations were underway. His contract with the Premier League club expired last month.
