Juventus is faced with a summer of frustration while their transfer activity stops, with key departures that do not materialize and the incoming targets sliding further from the range.
The Turin Club had planned that a handful of high -level outings would open the way to a refreshment of the squad. Instead, they were left behind with market realities that blocked their ambitions.
The most important departure was to be Dusan Vlahovic, with Jadon Sancho from Manchester United as a marquee arrival.
However, according to sources close to the club, progress on both fronts have stalled, leaving the decision -makers more and more concerned.
Vlahovic’s situation was a persistent problem. Juventus has given priority to the search for a means of advancing it, without plans to extend its contract. However, its substantial wages have dissuaded potential buyers – even those who have a forensile spending power.
The Serbian striker was widely offered to English clubs, Newcastle United identified as a possible destination recently, but no agreement has been concluded.
The potential passage from Sancho to Turin has also been in preparation for more than two months, but the discussions have failed to break the dead end. While the winger is open to this decision, his salary requests and potential transfer fees have obstacles.
A composition case is the fact that Juventus has not yet cut their team, without a sale agreement for Nico Gonzalez, whose exit was considered essential to open a movement for Sancho. Sources now believe that Gonzalez could end up staying in Turin.
The midfielder’s situation offers little relief. Douglas Luiz is eager to leave, and Juventus is open when it left, but they have not been able to obtain a buyer so far.
The Premier League clubs, including Nottingham Forest, Everton and West Ham, were all linked, but none has finalized an agreement.
If the room can be created in the midfield, Matt O’riley de Brighton is on the limited list of the club, but this prosecution was also slow.
For the moment, Juventus is stuck in the transfer limbo. Without progress on Vlahovic, Luiz or Gonzalez, their hopes of a significant summer overhaul can be faded – raising the possibility that all three can even be in black and white next season.
