The Arsenal striker Kai Havertz is ready for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The 26 -year -old German international was not part of an open training session at the Emirates stadium on Wednesday morning.
The evaluations are at an early stage so that the prognosis and the duration of any implementation are not clear.
Arsenal, however, actively explores the transfer market to potentially strengthen their attack and covers the absence of Havertz.
The new signature Viktor Gyokerres is now the only attacker recognized and available in the Mikel Arteta team. Leandro Trossard, who recently accepted a new contract with the club, also presented.
Gabriel Jesus, a more proven and tested option, is always recovering from the injury to the previous cross ligament suffered in January and is not expected for a while.
This is the second injury that Havertz suffered in 2025 after suffering a tear of the hamstrings in a training camp in Dubai in February. Despite the signature of Gyokerres, Havertz remained a large part of Arteta’s plans. He missed a large part of the second half of last season after having undergone an ischo-leg operation, and the decision to sign Gyokerres was taken in part to ensure that Arsenal would have sufficient depth and quality in the center-forward position. If Havertz was still released for an extended period, this probably gives them where they started.
It is now quite essential that Gyokerres remains in good shape and makes a rapid adaptation to the Premier League life. Currently, Merinos and Trossard are said to be the immediate backgrounds of the Swedish international.
Havertz’s prognosis may also have an impact on arsenal plans in the rest of the transfer window. If Havertz has to undergo surgery or faces several months on the sidelines, they may have to consider entering the market to strengthen their attack.
