This year’s club World Cup was played in a completely new format, with a group phase and Knockout made up of 32 teams of six confederations.
FIFA has now made a decision on how they recognize the new tournament – and that’s bad news for United, Liverpool and City.

They decided to recognize Chelsea as the “first of all” of the winners of the Club World Cup, which means that they are now the only club which can be considered as “world champions”.
According to The Daily Mail, the three English clubs above – and all the other previous winners – will now be known as “FIFA Intercontinental Champions”.
There is a tournament named similar known as the intercontinental cup of FIFA, which sees each of the six teams which won their continental cup of the Confederation compete in a mini-tournoi in December.
In other words, it is necessary to add, different from the other intercontinental cup of FIFA, which took place between 1970 and 2004 and was disputed between the UEFA Champions League and the winners of the COPA Libertadores.
Announcement
The new club World Cup has brought a new trophy with it – although the previous format trophy also has the title of the “Club Club” World Cup.
After all this, we find ourselves with something of a Roll of Honor who recognizes only one world champion – and many other world champions now forms.
The club World Cup should return in 2029, with PSG, the Pyramids, Al Hilal and Cruz Azul already qualified after winning their continental championships last season.
