The manager of Cameroon Brys denies resigning, suggests that the resignation by e-mail was sent by Pirate

Marc Brys denied having left his Cameroon coach despite the country’s football federation confirming his release on Wednesday, because the Belgian said that his email had probably been hacked and that his alleged pregnation did not come from him.

This is the last touch of a long battle between Brys and the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) since its appointment by the country’s sports ministry in April 2024.

A letter dated July 21, supposedly from Brys to the Ministry of Sports and Fecafoot, said that he had made the decision to terminate his contract “due to the non-payment of my remuneration and that of my staff for more than 60 days”.

On Wednesday, when the letter entered the public domain, Fecafoot declared in a statement that he had noted the resignation and “would implement a coordinated response to mitigate the impact of this vacancy at the head of the technical staff of the national team”.

However, Brys later declared in a letter to the Ministry of Sports that his email had probably been hacked and that he had not resigned.

The Cameroon Ministry of Sports confirmed that Brys had remained in its role. Fecafoot did not respond to the denial of the coach.

He came five months before the final of the African Cup of Nations in Morocco and with the qualification of Cameroon for the 2026 undecided World Cup.

Brys had a relationship with a blow with the president of Fecafoot, Samuel Eto’o, since his interview last year, but his position is funded by the Ministry of Sports and Physics.

Cameroon was drawn in a group with title champions of Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon and Mozambique in the finals from December 21 to January 18 of the Afcon.

They are currently second in their qualification swimming pool for the World Cup next year in the United States, Mexico and Canada, a point behind Cape Verde with four laps to play.

Only the best team automatically wins its place in the final, Cameroon taking place for a tie against Cape Verde in September.

The qualification campaign will end in October.
