
The English international Noni Madueke confirmed his departure from Chelsea on Friday, Arsenal announcing his new signature later in the afternoon.
The 23 -year -old said goodbye to the club on Instagram. Northern London, Madueke, joined Chelsea from the PSV on the Dutch side in January 2023 and has since made 92 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.
He was then announced shortly after he had moved to Arsenal on a “long -term contract”, where he will wear shirt number 20.
Manager Mikel Arteta said to the official Arsenal website: “We are all very happy to welcome Noni Madueke to the team.
“Noni is an exciting and powerful young player, with his performances and figures in recent seasons being of constant quality. He is one of the most talented players in the Premier League.
“At only 23 years old, Noni already brings an experience of the club and international football, and he knows very well the Premier League. Having seen the quality of the performance of Noni near in recent seasons, we are really delighted that he joins us.”
The reports suggest that the decision between the two London clubs cost the Gunners about 50 million pounds, a profit for Chelsea on their signature two years ago.
Malueke wrote on Instagram: “Dear Chelsea Football Club, I want to thank you for the last 3 years … To my teammates thank you for everything, I only go with love and admiration for you guys.
“To (Chelsea manager) Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you, thank you for trying to improve as a player and as a person. Finally, thank you to each Fan of Chelsea. Thank you for love, praise and also criticism, I appreciate everything. I don’t leave good memories.”
Madueke appeared in five of the seven games of the Chelsea Club World Cup in the United States, but did not play in his 3-0 victory against the winners of the Paris St Germain Champions League on Sunday.
