
Real Madrid defender Lucas Vazquez will leave the club, the Spanish giants confirmed on Wednesday.
After his agreement expired at the end of the season, Los Blancos had agreed to extend the short-term contract for the Spaniard to keep him for the club World Cup, to which they competed this summer in the United States.
“Vazquez represents the example of the values of Real Madrid, which made him one of the most loved players of our fans”. said Madrid president Florentino Perez in a statement.

Originally a winger, the 34 -year -old man won 23 trophies at the club, including five champions leagues and four Laliga titles, largely as a player of the team.
“I leave Real Madrid but Real Madrid will never leave me,” said Vazquez in a goodbye video.
The Spaniard has gone through the Madrid youth system and spent his entire career at the club, with the exception of a loan in Espanyol during the 2014-15 season, playing 402 times all competitions for Los Blancos.
