Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, a sign for Qatar al-Sadd on the two-year agreement

Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino joined Qatar al-Sadd after the Saudi side of Saudi Pro League, Al Ahli, confirmed the departure of the Brazilian from the club on Wednesday.

Firmino signed a two-year agreement with the Champions of the Qatar Stars League, after having led Al-Ahli as an elite of the Asian Champions League in Jeddah in May.

“I am happy because we have made the story to the club during these two years together”, ” The Brazilian said in a farewell video published by the Saudi club.

“The best time was to become the Champions of Asia. I am very grateful.”

Firmino spent two seasons with Al Ahli after joining Liverpool and played a key role in the first victory of the club’s continental title, marking six times in 12 games in the elite of the Asian Champions League.

He provided assists for the two goals of his club in their victory on the frontal of Japan Kawasaki in the final in May to become the first player – alongside clubs Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy – to win continental titles in Asia and Europe.

Firmino’s performances have seen him appoint the most useful player in the competition.

The 33-year-old joined a team from Al-Sadd who won last season’s national title to qualify for the next edition of the Elite of the Asian Champions League.
