Serie A referee Antonio Giua fell short of expectations during Monday’s clash between Inter Milan and Como.

After a goalless first half, Simone Inzaghi’s team scored twice in the second half to take three points.
Carlos Augusto and Marcus Thuram scored for the home side as Inter secured a fourth consecutive league victory.
However, Giua’s refereeing was not up to par in Serie A.
On the contrary, he made many questionable decisions throughout the match.
Fortunately, his appeals did not affect the outcome.

Giua’s first bad decision came at Como’s expense midway through the first half.
He stopped play to give Yann Bisseck a yellow card, although the visitors had the opportunity to catch Inter at the break.
Indeed, his poor choice deprived Como of a rare opportunity to break through Inter’s defense.
But he also failed to award Inter a free kick from a promising position close to the half-time whistle.
Nico Paz’s handball near the Como penalty area went unnoticed despite vigorous appeals from the Nerazzurri players.
Additionally, he took time to disallow Lautaro Martinez’s goal for an obvious offside position.
