Chelsea Levi Colwill defender facing a long fate with an LCA injury

Chelsea Levi Colwill central defender underwent an injury to the previous cross ligament (LCA) in training, said the Premier League club on Thursday, the 22 -year -old should miss a large part of the new season.

The English international has undergone a successful surgery on the injury, added Chelsea.

It is usually six to nine months for a player to recover from an LCA injury and return to action.

“The 22-year-old had returned to Cobham for the pre-season at the beginning of this week, before unfortunately undergoing training in training.” Chelsea said in a statement.

“Medical assessments confirmed by surgery would be the course of action required.

“Levi will now start its recovery and will be supported by the club’s medical service in Cobham during its rehabilitation phase.”

Colwill played 43 appearances in all the competitions for Chelsea last season and helped the London Western team to win the Club World Cup in July.

Chelsea, who finished fourth last season, opened his first League 2025-26 campaign against Crystal Palace in Stamford Bridge on August 17.
