Job summary

The Lead Data Analysis and Information Officer is responsible for the running, collation, analysis and presentation recovery and KPI reports. The post holder will also be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the day to day functions of the London Breast Screening Hub.

Data accuracy and Audit are critical performance measures of the Breast Screening service that impact on patient pathways and as part of the recovery, the post holder will be instrumental in providing statistical analysis and updates to the 6 London breast screening services.

The post holder will make informed decisions within the area of responsibility, in accordance with local, regional and national guideline/requirement policies and procedures.

The post holder is responsible for developing and implementing reports to define completeness and adequacy of the data collection procedures.

The post holder is responsible for work based audits and process reviews. To develop ad hoc reports using a variety of computer packages and present when required.

The post holder will have management responsibilities, to provide oversight to the London Admin Hub Team and take ownership of and assist with HR related tasks e.g. sickness and performance management

Candidates will be required to complete an assessment on the day prior to their interview.

***Due to the nature of the role and assessment, all interviews will be conducted in person. Remote or virtual interviewing options are not available.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead or delegate appropriately for the provision of an effective and efficient London data recovery service, ensuring that the highest quality customer service is provided at all times.
  • To lead or participate in administrative team meetings.
  • Develop and implement evaluation of methodologies relating to various health data programmes to determine completeness and adequacy of the data collection procedure.
  • Ensure that all date hub staff understand their responsibilities, objectives and tasks with regard to breast screening.
  • To deliver against local, regional, and national objectives, achieving quality outcomes, prioritising own workload and working to tight deadlines.
  • In line with the Assistant Service Manager take responsibility formanagement/maintenance of the London hub administrative area,general safety, security and upkeep of the screening premises.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Previous demonstrable experience of designing significant complex numerical data analysis and interpretation and presentation of results both verbally and in writing
  • High level of expertise in the use of windows based computer applications (especially MS, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Previously worked in a similar role in the public sector
  • Undertaking audits and using principles of audit
  • Principles of information governance and data protection legislation
  • Good knowledge of the NHS Breast Screening programme

Desirable

  • Experience of Staff /Team Management
  • Good knowledge of the National Breast Screening computer System (NBSS) and its operation

Education and professional qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to level 3 (A-Levels, National Certificate/Diploma etc.) in relevant subject or at least a year’s experience of working at a similar level
