Role Description
We are actively recruiting remote contributors for a specialized data collection project for Aon Data. The objective of this research is to improve state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) voice recognition systems by enhancing machine learning models with high-quality British English conversational data.
This is a professional, single-session contract requiring approximately 3 hours of total commitment, including setup time. We require individuals with no prior experience—just natural conversational ability.
The Task
- Sessions: The procedure involves completing 5 to 7 individual recording sessions.
- Dialogue: For each session, you will improvise a 20 to 30-minute conversation with a chat partner on topics provided from a list of 18 subjects.
- Spontaneity Mandate: Dialogue must be spontaneous and highly interactive. This is strictly NOT script reading. Speaker turns must be balanced, with a single speaker speaking for no more than one minute in a row, ensuring natural conversational flow and interactivity.
- Method: Recording is conducted remotely via the proprietary FunCrowd app on your smartphone. You and your partner must be in separate rooms during the recording session.
Required Qualifications (Technical Screening)
To ensure the acoustic data meets the rigorous standards required for AI model training and compliance with this specialized project:
Linguistic Authenticity (GOR): Speakers must demonstrate a highly consistent and authentic British English accent and conversational style. The required level of pronunciation and conversational rhythm is that typically attained by individuals who have been raised and educated within the UK. This is a strictly technical data requirement to improve the model’s performance across all UK dialects.
Location Eligibility: This is a location-independent, global contract. Applicants currently residing outside the UK are welcome to apply, provided they meet the above linguistic authenticity requirement.
Age: Must be 18 years or older.
Technical Setup: Must have continuous, reliable WiFi and a dedicated quiet, echo-free recording environment. Access to a smartphone valued at more than $100 USD is required.
Partners: You may apply individually (and be paired by our team) or bring your own conversation partner (recommended). Bringing a partner (family or friend) streamlines the process and qualifies your group for the higher incentive.
Compensation and Application
Payment (Paid in USD): $50 USD per person (approx. £40) / $110 USD per group (approx. £84) for project completion.
Future Work: Successful completion of this first project offers the possibility of working on new projects we receive weekly.
