Job Title – Mental Health Support Worker
Location – Blakeley Green, Green Lane, Wolverhampton WV6 9HU
Salary – £13.01 per hour
Working hours – 16 hours (days)
Shift Patterns – Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00pm
As Support worker you will be required to be available for these times.
About the role
Support at Home provides accommodation for customers at Blakeley Green
Our service aims to empower residents by helping them build essential skills for independent living within the community.
Supporting individuals as they transition from hospital care or prevent hospital admission through early intervention.
In addition, we provide:
Offering a safe and supportive environment
Possible long-term accommodation focusing on recovery and independence
Our beds are available to individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental ill health.
This support helps reduce disruption to people`s lives by providing care in a homely setting
Located in a residential areas of Wolverhampton, Support at home offers calm, community-based environment for recovery and growth.
About you
- Experienced working within a mental health environment.
- Have strong communication and listening skills, enabling you to support service users in a calm, empathetic and empowering way. Be patient, resilient, and able to remain emotionally grounded when supporting individuals experiencing distress or crisis.
- Be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, contributing effectively to care planning, risk awareness, and recovery-focused support.
- Understand the importance of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safeguarding, and are confident in recording clear, accurate notes.
- The ability to be a natural care giver and someone who can communicate in an open and honest manner with your colleagues, residents and their visitors.
Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require an enhanced DBS check to be completed. We will provide this for you.
