About This Role

We are looking for a caring and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to provide one-to-one support to a fun-loving 13-year-old boy throughout his school day.

• You’ll meet him at school at 9:00am and play an important role in supporting his wellbeing, clinical needs and social development. You’ll build a trusting and positive relationship with him, helping him feel comfortable, confident and supported throughout the day.
• You’ll provide attentive, person-centred care, remaining responsive to his individual needs and providing support whenever required. Alongside his care needs, you’ll encourage him to take part in school activities, social opportunities and the things he enjoys.
• A key part of the role will be promoting his independence, confidence and friendships, while helping him make the most of his time at school.
• This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a young person’s day by providing compassionate support, encouragement and companionship in a positive school environment.

Clinical Experience

• Previous experience supporting children with complex healthcare needs is essential.
• The specific clinical competency required for this client is:
• Previous experience or exposure to blood glucose monitoring is essential.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Have a minimum of 3 months paid care experience working in a professional care setting within the UK
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Be committed to providing safe, compassionate and child – centred care
• Be willing to complete client-specific clinical training where required
• Be comfortable working within a school environment and supporting children in an educational setting.
