Health Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated care team. In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality support to residents and clients, promoting their comfort, safety, dignity, and independence.

Whether working in a care home or providing care in clients’ homes, you will play an important role in improving the quality of life of those we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents or clients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, personal care, and mobility, while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Support the development and delivery of personalised care plans based on individual needs.
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and reassurance to residents and clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided using electronic care-record systems.
  • Regularly update care plans and report any changes in clients’ needs or wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Drive between different locations when required for home-care assignments, providing a reliable and timely service.
  • Follow all health and safety, safeguarding, infection-control, and workplace procedures.
  • Attend training and development sessions to continuously improve your knowledge and care skills.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or home-care setting is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • Valid UK driving licence and ability to drive between locations for home-care assignments.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to use electronic care-record systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, respectful, and responsible attitude.
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and other shifts as required.
  • Commitment to providing person-centred, compassionate care.
