Pharmacy Data Entry Technician
- Assist licensed pharmacists remotely with prescription preparation and health-related products
- Process and enter prescriptions accurately and timely
- Perform medication history interviews and food-drug interaction counseling
- Maintain patient records with attention to detail
- Refer questions to Pharmacist/Supervisor
- Work with multiple software programs to review patient profiles and process medication orders
Responsibilities
- Enter and process medication orders into pharmacy operating system
- Handle hand-written/electronic prescriptions, reorder requests, and phone orders
- Enter correct administration hours for automated dispensing devices
- Spot check for errors and follow remediation procedures
- Verify patient and prescription information accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality of patient medications and illnesses
- Protect sensitive PHI information

- Read prescriptions and SIG codes
- Learn and retain product names, locations, and drug usage instructions
- Enter and retrieve data from operating systems

- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
Compensation
- $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (base hourly rate)
Physical Requirements

Education and Experience
- Complete employer orientation and ongoing training
- Fully licensed technician in the State of Indiana (PTCB license required)
