The Role

As a Webinar Moderator, you’ll provide essential technical and administrative support during live online sessions, allowing tutors to focus on delivering engaging content to learners.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Join webinar sessions 10-15 minutes early to conduct technical checks
  • Welcome learners as they join and assist with any connection issues
  • Monitor the chat and Q&A box throughout sessions
  • Manage participant questions and relay them to the tutor at appropriate times
  • Take attendance and track participant engagement
  • Handle breakout room assignments when required
  • Address basic technical issues (audio, video, screen sharing)
  • Record sessions when requested
  • Report any technical or learner issues to the course coordinator
  • Maintain professional and supportive presence throughout sessions

 

Who We’re Looking For

Essential: (Training included)

  • Reliable internet connection and professional home workspace
  • Excellent written communication skills for chat management
  • Professional, calm demeanor and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask and respond quickly to learner needs
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Teams
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Available for scheduled sessions (including some evenings/weekends)

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience moderating webinars or virtual events
  • Basic understanding of online learning environments
  • Customer service or support experience
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms

 

Session Details

  • Sessions typically 1-3 hours in duration
  • Scheduled in advance with flexible booking
  • Primarily evenings and weekends (some daytime availability)
